childbirth in 1929. He was close to his oldest brother Edmund and was affected

Pope John Paul II was pope for 26 years 5 months 2 weeks and
3 days. When he died in 2005 two miracles happened 1 a few months after he died
and 1 happened 6 years after he died. In the first miracle, a French nun had
the same disease that killed Pope John Paul II, when she prayed in honor of the
pope she was suddenly healed. In the second miracle, a woman had aneurism on a
major blood vessel in her brain so her family prayed to a shrine of Pope John
Paul II on behalf of her. Then the woman was healed and the doctors said there
was no scientific explanation about what happened. He was beatified on May 1,
2011 in the Saint Peters Square, Vatican City by Pope Benedict XVI. He was canonized
on April 27, 2014 in the Saint Peters Square, Vatican City by Pope Francis.
