This chapter is mostly about following Phineas and seeing his wounds. People follow Phineas and find him really hurt. Phineas visits his mother and has a seizure. He wasn't social anymore and was stubborn and untrustworthy. People were shocked he didn't die.

The Authors purpose of this chapter is that he explains Phineas's travels and how his condition became worse and had many seizures. The chapter does go into some detail about the Concord stagecoach Phineas drives in Chille. They say " A Concord Stagecoach is a Big Monster on huge wooden wheels".(Pg. 68 on my ipad different format). And towards the end the book talks about Phineas's death.
